APPOINTMENT SURGERY
In addition to open surgery, each doctor has booked appointment sessions
which vary from week to week, covering morning and afternoon sessions.
PRACTICE PREMISES
The surgery has suitable access and facilities for disabled patients. This
includes parking bays outside the surgery premises, portable infaloop system,
visual call system
HOME VISITS
These are for people too ill or disabled to attend the surgery. If possible,
please request a visit before 10.00am, before the doctor begins his/her round.
Be prepared to give our staff some idea of your symptoms so that we can judge
the urgency of each call while planning the round.
CALLS OUTSIDE SURGERY HOURS
If you need to contact a doctor for an urgent medical problem after 6.30pm on
weeknights and anytime on weekends and Bank Holidays, please telephone the out
of hours service on 01437 769811. Your call will be answered by
trained staff who will make sure that you get the treatment you need. The
out-of-hours service is commissioned by Ceredigion Local Health Board.

SERVICES
REPEAT PRESCRIPTIONS
These can be ordered by post, at reception, by fax on 0844 8151118
or. Requests for repeat prescriptions must be received in
writing.You can now order your repeat pescriptions online
- please register for this at reception. Please use your
prescription counterfoil to order repeats where possible and also state if you
wish the completed prescription to be sent to a pharmacy. Please allow 24 hours
before collecting your prescription from the surgery.
TRAVEL VACCINATIONS
Please telephone the surgery to discuss travel vaccinations, if possible, at
least 8 weeks before departure. Some vaccinations are not covered by the NHS and
you may be asked to pay a fee. A list of these is available at reception.
OTHER IN-HOUSE SERVICES
Citizens Advice Bureau: Weekly clinic. To make an
appointment please telephone 01239 613707. You can also ask your nurse or doctor
to refer you.
CARERS
The practice adopts a proactive approach to the identification of carers. We
keep a register of patients who are carers and we have information available for
carers to obtain support. Please ask at reception. Useful website addresses on

CLINICS
Antenatal Clinic – Tuesday 1.30pm – 2.30pm Run by the
midwives with a doctor available. Appointments are given, but you are welcome to
come to the clinic anytime for reassurance.
Well Woman
Clinic – Held by Dr. Katharine Gordon and Dr. Beth Howells, this clinic
is available to all women for general health check-ups and cervical smears.
Appointment only.
Family Planning & HRT Clinic –
Every Tuesday 5.30pm – 6.30pm. Held by Dr. Katharine Gordon and Dr. Beth
Howells. A full range of service and follow-up is available. No appointment is
necessary.
Asthma Clinic - Run by Sister Neris Davies
and Dr. Jay. Patients will be invited to attend, but you can also telephone the
surgery to book an appointment if required.
Diabetic
Clinic - Run by Dr. Roberts and the diabetic sister. Please see the
practice nurse to arrange an appointment. We see diabetics for regular
review.
Well Baby Clinic – Thursday 1.30pm – 3.00pm.
Held by Dr. Jay and the Health Visitors. No appointment is necessary and
children under five are welcome for development screening, immunisation and
general advice. Please do not bring children to the clinic when they are
ill.
Hypertension Clinic – Run by the practice nurses.
Patients will be invited to attend.
Rheumatoid Clinic –
Run by Dr. Jones. Patients will be invited to attend.
